Just a blog documenting my time with the yellow truck of Frogs and Fun.
I made a few for me as I couldn’t find any online, then in showing someone else how Etsy works I sold a couple, so i might as well leave them up for anyone else that’s looking and help fund my conversion HERE
But Etsy being a big company with some unlisted automations suspended my account with no message or reason, after using the official methods of contacting them got told they would answer within 14 day, 14 days later my store was unsuspended and a message saying it had been reinstated but still no word as to why it happened
Might start looking at my other creations and list a few, but i might not, we’ll see how long the store stays up first
Personally I think it looks great, now to work out a fitment method.
magnets and Velcro have been floated as options, I would like them removable for cleaning and nasty loads
So after a few days with the friendly tech support my laser is lasering correctly.
Now the frog madness can proceed. Still a little lost with what to seal it with, i made a Greenland paddle a couple of years ago and that was waxed, seems to be doing well so i might use that as still have lots of it
Time to add more frogs, because why not.
I had the brilliant* idea of laser engraving many frogs and crowns to the wooden strips for the back of the pickup
unfortunately the eagle eyed of you will notice im suffering from some dropped steps in the x-axis so tidy a bit more tinkering to fix that then burn the whole pile
Finally got round to doing some more to the yellow truck. Today was cut and dry fit the new wood for the bed.
im using some reclaimed ply kindly cut to width by my dad, so today I cut them to length then chamfered the edges. Next I plan to laser engrave some frogs and logos into them before varnish 🤞
Am thinking of changing the buttons on the dash for a more touchbar type design. Proof of concept needed first using a lot of rgb LED’s
we’ll see how far this goes, but I’m liking the pixel-art theme
